The hardness–intensity correlation of photospheric emission from a structured jet for gamma-ray bursts

نویسندگان

چکیده

For many gamma-ray bursts (GRBs), hardness-intensity correlation (HIC) can be described by a power-law function, $E_{\rm p}\propto F^{\kappa}$, where p}$ is the peak energy of $\nu F_{\nu}$ spectrum, and $F$ instantaneous flux. In this paper, HIC non-dissipative photospheric emission from structured jet studied in different regimes. An intermediate photosphere, which contains both unsaturated saturated emissions introduced, we find positive $\kappa<1/4$ case. The same conclusion could generalized to hybrid without magnetic dissipations, or that with sub-photospheric dissipations fully thermalized. This may imply contribution peaking at $\sim1/2$ distribution observed $\kappa$ are mainly prompt GRBs synchrotron origin. Besides, photosphere give smaller low-energy photon index $\alpha$ than regime, naturally reproduce anti-correlation $\alpha-E_{\rm GRB pulse.

Afterglow Emission from Naked Gamma-ray Bursts

We calculate the afterglow emission for Gamma-Ray Bursts (GRBs) going off in an extremely low density medium, referred to as naked bursts. Our results also apply to the case where the external medium density falls off sharply at some distance from the burst. The observed afterglow flux in this case originates at high latitudes, i.e. where the angle between the fluid velocity and the observer li...

Prompt Neutrino Emission from Gamma-Ray Bursts

Recent observations show that some or possibly all long-duration gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) arise from the core collapse of massive stars. In this case, the GRB environments are believed to be preburst stellar winds. We here study prompt neutrino emission from reverse shocks as a result of the interaction of relativistic fireballs with their surrounding wind matter. We find that for reasonable par...

X-Ray Emission of Gamma-Ray Bursts

X-ray emission can provide a crucial diagnostic of gamma-ray bursts (GRBs). We calculate the X-ray and gamma-ray spectra of impulsive acceleration episodes related to GRB pulses. We use the synchrotron shock model (SSM) as a basis of our calculations. We show that the current data on soft-to-hard emission ratios of GRB pulse emission are in agreement with the SSM. In particular, GRB pulse emiss...

A Search for Millimetric Emission from Gamma Ray Bursts

We have used the 2year Differential Microwave Radiometer data from the COsmic Background Explorer (COBE) satellite to systematically search for millimetric (31 90 GHz) emission from the Gamma Ray Bursts (GRBs) in the Burst And Transient Source Experiment (BATSE) GRB 3B catalog. The large beamsize of the COBE instrument (7◦ FWHM) allows for an efficient search of the large GRB positional error b...
